4 Days Uganda Gorillas, Double Visit

This 4-days Gorilla Tracking Safari in Uganda includes a double experience of tracking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in Southwestern Uganda approximately 9 hours drive from Kampala. During Four Days Uganda Safari Tour Bwindi Impenetrable and Lake Bunyonyi you will be able to visit two different gorilla families; hence your accommodation facilities might vary basing on the parts where you will be trekking gorilla from.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast and after your guide will meet you and shortly brief you about your 4 days safari before you embark on the approximately 9 hour drive to Bwindi forest. Along the way you will stop at the equator to take photographs and purchase some crafts, continue and have lunch in Mbarara. After lunch you will proceed with your journey as you will go through the beautiful scenery, rolling hills with terraces as you arrive in Kabale also called the Switzerland of Africa. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: First day of Gorilla tracking and community visit -Bwindi

Enjoy your breakfast and set out from your lodge with packed lunch as you head to the park headquarters at 7 am for briefing before you embark on Gorilla tracking in the thick mist Bwindi forest. Thereafter proceed for tracking which takes about between 2 to 6 hours mainly dependent on how far the gorillas go. Trekkers are allowed to spend one hour with the gentle giants in this time you could watch them play, feed, and take enough photos. Later return back to the lodge, relax for some time and after go for a community walk in the Batwa community during the evening. Enjoy dinner & overnight.

Day 3: Second day of Gorilla tracking in Bwindi and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Before embarking on gorilla tracking, wake up early enough and have breakfast, carry packed lunch from the lodge, you will follow the same procedure used same as that on the first day though you will follow another gorilla group different from what you tracked the previous day. After trekking, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is home to 29 islands and a great place for birds; its waters are Bilharzia free and safe for swimming. You will have your dinner this side and Overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure

Enjoy a delicious morning breakfast, and set out for a boat ride on lake Bunyonyi where you will go around various islands with sights of terraced hills, birds, and alike. Thereafter start off your journey to Kampala having lunch en-route reaching there late evening. Your guide will take you to your Kampala hotel or transfer you to the airport for your flight back home..

    Day 1: Kampala- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

    Depart from Kampala after your early morning breakfast as you head to Bwindi found in South Western Uganda a home to the rare mountain Gorillas. Along the way you will have spectacular views from the landscape which starts from the flat lands to the rolling steep hills, its really a breathtaking journey. Have lunch en-route in Mbarara and later proceed to Bwindi arriving in the late afternoon.     Day 3: Kibale Forest National Park

    Start your day with a tasty breakfast and check-out from the lodge and start off your journey to Kibale National Park. A lot will be enjoyed on this thrilling journey including the scenery in Kabale. You will have a stop to take photo if there is need as you continue to Kibale arriving late evening. Proceed and check in at the lodge, have dinner before you sleep you could opt for an evening forest walk where you will be able to see some bush babies (this is based on the accommodation facility you are using). Thereafter return to the lodge and rest since you will be having a long interesting tomorrow.     Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking- Kibale Forest

    After your early morning breakfast, proceed to the park for Chimpanzee tracking, it is an amazing experience. You will also have an opportunity to see beautiful birds and other primates such as the White and Black colobus monkeys, Baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Grey cheeked mangabeys among others. On meeting the chimpanzees, it will be amazing as you will watch them jump on different branches, watch them feed and play, you will also see nests in which they rest/sleep. Take enough photos but with your camera flash off. Later return back for lunch at the lodge, check out and get back on the road to Kampala to your hotel or Entebbe that is if your flight is on that very day.

    4 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife

    Tour overview

    The 4 days Gorilla trekking and wildlife safari will from Kampala and end still in Kampala-Uganda. You will visit some of the most famous National Parks in Uganda such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in Southwestern Uganda and covers an area of 331 Sq km, it is a home to 12 Gorilla families, 348 bird species, 163 tree species, 120 mammals, 220 butterfly species, 27 chameleon species, and 1000 flowering plants among others.

    Also, different other primates are found here such as the white and black colobus monkeys and Chimpanzees. Queen Elizabeth National Park, this park is located 376 km away from Kampala covering an area of 1, 978 Sq km. It is home to over 95 species of mammals, 10 species of primates and over 500 species of birds, and its famous for the amazing boat cruise and game viewing.

    Day 1: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Early in the morning after breakfast your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel, and he will take you through the details of your trip. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the southwestern part of Uganda for gorilla tracking. You will have a stopover at the equator to take photos and the other one in Mbarara to have your lunch. Along the way you will see a lot of sightings such as the beautiful scenery as you approach the park, this park is also endowed with a lot of plant and animals species like the mountain gorillas chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, forest elephants, birds, and waterfalls though Mountain gorillas are most popular. Check-in at the lodge, unwind, have dinner and an Overnight.     Day 2: Gorilla Tracking -Bwindi forest

    On this day you will need to be very early, by 6:00am you should be up, have breakfast, and pack your lunch. Drive ahead reaching the Park headquarters, where you will be briefed by the ranger guide concerning what to do and not to do while in the park. Thereafter proceed with the ranger to look out for the mountain gorillas, this involves hiking up and down rugged paths whereby you will need to be physically fit and also carry a walking stick. Also, you can use the local porters to carry your luggage. When you meet these gentle giants follow what your ranger guide tells you especially standing 6 meters away from them as you watch the mothers feed the young ones, the juveniles playing and the silver backs guarding the territory. How long this search will take is based on where the gorillas are located and feeding from so it can take 2-8 hours. Also don’t forget to carry enough water, a rain coat, sturdy shoes, long sleeved trousers, and snacks. Return back to your lodge after trekking. In the afternoon you may choose to relax at the lodge or go for a walk through the Batwa community/homesteads, see how they live and enjoy their cultural performances through dance and drama.

    Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha Sector

    Early in the morning after your break-fast your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel, and he will take you through the details of your trip. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the southwestern part of Uganda for gorilla tracking. You will have a stopover at the equator to take photos and the other one in Mbarara to have your lunch.     Day 4: Morning Game drive/Chimpanzee tracking and Depart to Kampala

    Take your breakfast in the morning. This day being your last, you may opt for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi trail where you will have chance to see animals such as the lions, warthogs, elephants, topis, buffaloes among others, also during this morning you will observe a number of different bird species or choose to visit the Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking. Thereafter, start off your journey to Kampala, you will stopover in Mbarara for Lunch. After lunch, proceed to Kampala whereby you will reach in the afternoon.
