This 6 Days Mount Kenya Camping tour is a comprehensive expedition that involves camping at various locations on Mount Kenya over a period of six days. The tour starts in Naromoru and ends in Chogoria town, covering key points such as Naromoru Park Gate, Mackinder’s Hut, Chogoria Rockhead Campsite, and Chogoria Gate. The itinerary includes hiking through different terrains, acclimatization days, and reaching significant points like Point Lenana for sunrise views. Participants stay in huts or campsites along the way, with meals provided throughout the journey. The tour is fully guided and suitable for individuals aged 12 to 80 with a moderate physical rating.

Day One (1): Pick-up Nairobi

A guide and a mountain support crew will arrive at the hotel in the morning in order to meet you and hold a quick Pick up in Nairobi early in the morning and drive for 3.5 hrs to Chogoria town.

Begin a 3-hour hike past the forest clearance.

Continue through the forest along the dirt and sometimes muddy road to Mount Meru Bandas at 2,950 m for lunch and afternoon walks.

Have dinner and camp for overnight at the Mt. Meru Bandas.

Day Two (2): Lake ellis & fishing

Early morning breakfast at the Bandas, Leave for a 5-hour trek to Lake Ellis (3,400 m). Detour to Kathita waterfalls while on the trek. Go fishing in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp nearby the lake.

Day Three (3): Lake Michaelson

Early morning breakfast after camping, You will Start trek to Michaelson for 5-hour trek to Michaelson (4,000 m). Have picnic lunch along the way with a possibility of fishing. Dinner & camping at the lake-side for the day

Day Four (4): simba cole

This day will be spent trekking towards School Hut Camp (4,715 m). The landscape will change significantly to give way to a rocky semidesert. The actual trekking is not very difficult just remember to stick with an appropriate pace to keep up your strength for the trekking to Kilimanjaro's summit. When you reach the camp, we recommend you sleep well avoid strenuous activity and drink as much as you can, because that very night you will be ascending Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).

Day Five (5): Point lenana

Leave camp by 4:00 am for the steep stretch to Pt. Lenana 1 to 2 hours arrive at Pt. Lenana (4,985 m) Possible African sunrise view by 6:00 am (highly dependent on the pace). If weather permits view the peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro standing above clouds 340 km away. Descend to Shiptons for breakfast Continue descent to Old Moses for overnight

Day Six (6): Final descent

Early breakfast at Old Moses

After 3-hour descent to Sirimon gate for pick-up

Transfer to Nairobi
