Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel toward the spectacular Maasai Mara National Reserve.Upon reaching the reserve, begin an en-route game drive as you make you\'re way toward the lodge, where you will check in and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, head out for you\'re first dedicated game drive in the Maasai Mara.The reserve is characterized by rolling grasslands, low hills and areas of woodland along the Mara River and it\'s tributaries. Wildlife is abundant, with opportunities to see elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and a variety of antelopes.

The Mara is also home to major predators including lions, cheetahs and leopards, while the rivers support hippos and crocodiles. Birdlife adds another dimension to the safari, with species such as ostriches, secretary birds, crowned cranes and saddle-billed storks.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full-Day Game Drives in Maasai Mara National Reserve

Today is dedicated to exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve through morning and afternoon game drives.

The Maasai Mara forms part of the wider Serengeti ecosystem and is particularly famous for it\'s abundant wildlife and the annual Great Migration. During the migration season, enormous numbers of wildebeest and other herbivores move through the ecosystem, with the Mara River becoming one of the dramatic crossing points.Throughout you\'re game drives, search for the reserve\'s famous big cats, including lions, cheetahs and leopards. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and many other species. In the evening, visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience before returning to you\'re camp for dinner and overnight. Maasai Mara to Nairobi Airport – Entebbe, Uganda

After breakfast, pack you\'re belongings and begin the journey out of the Maasai Mara.Before continuing toward Nairobi, visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience. Afterward, continue the drive toward Nairobi, with lunch along the way.Proceed to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for you\'re onward flight to Entebbe, Uganda. The flight is not included in the package price.Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet you\'re driver and transfer to you\'re accommodation for the night.

Entebbe to Kibale National Park & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

After breakfast, meet you\'re safari guide at approximately 8:00 AM and begin you\'re journey toward Kibale National Park.

Travel through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda toward the beautiful Fort Portal area. The rolling green hills provide excellent photography opportunities as you approach the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.Continue through Uganda\'s famous tea-growing region, where expansive plantations create a striking green landscape. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed wetland located on the eastern side of Kibale Forest. The sanctuary is known for it\'s rich birdlife, primates and other forest wildlife.

During you\'re walk, you may encounter blue monkeys, baboons, otters, mongoose, bushbucks, bush pigs and other species. Birdwatchers can also look for the Great Blue Turaco and other forest birds. After the experience, continue to you\'re accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Chimpanzee Tracking & Other Primates – Transfer to Bwindi

Start the morning at approximately 7:00 AM with a chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest.

During the forest walk, search for chimpanzees and other primate species, including pottos, red colobus, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. You\'re guide will provide information about the primates as well as the forest\'s flora and fauna, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. The walk also provides opportunities for birdwatching and close encounters with forest wildlife.

After completing the chimpanzee experience, continue you\'re journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast at approximately 8:00 AM, continue you\'re journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.Located in southwestern Uganda along the edge of the Great Rift Valley, Bwindi is one of Uganda\'s richest forest ecosystems. It\'s combination of lowland and mountain habitats supports a remarkable variety of wildlife, birds, butterflies and plant species. the forest is particularly famous for its population of endangered mountain gorillas, making Bwindi one of East Africa\'s most important destinations for primate conservation and gorilla trekking. Upon arrival, check in at you\'re accommodation and prepare for the following day\'s gorilla tracking experience.

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today brings one of the major highlights of you\'re East African adventure: mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before entering the rainforest with experienced guides and trackers. The trek takes you through dense rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes as you search for a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The walk can be physically demanding and may take several hours depending on where the gorillas are located. Once the family is found, you will have an unforgettable opportunity to observe these magnificent animals in their natural environment.

According to the original program, visitors are guided to approximately six metres from the gorillas and spend up to one hour observing them.

After the trek, return to you\'re lodge to relax and enjoy the remainder of the evening.

Bwindi to Entebbe – Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha

After an early breakfast, begin you\'re return journey toward Entebbe, travelling through the scenic landscapes of southwestern Uganda.

Enjoy views of the region\'s grass-covered and terraced hills as you travel toward Mbarara. Along the way, look out for the distinctive long-horned Ankole cattle. A notable highlight of the journey is crossing the Equator, where you will have a brief stop before continuing to Entebbe.

Later, take you\'re onward flight from Entebbe to Kilimanjaro International Airport, Tanzania. The flight is not included in the package price.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, meet you\'re driver and transfer to Arusha for overnight accommodation. You will also meet you\'re safari guide for a briefing about the upcoming Tanzania safari.

Day 9 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Karatu

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive toward Tarangire National Park for a wildlife-filled safari experience.

Tarangire is known for it\'s ancient baobab trees, open savannahs and large concentrations of African elephants. As you explore the park, keep watch for lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffaloes and baboons.The park\'s distinctive landscapes and wildlife create excellent opportunities for photography and game viewing. After completing you\'re game drive, continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart Karatu and travel toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park.The route passes through the Ngorongoro Crater rim, providing opportunities to see wildlife along the way. Continue into the Serengeti, one of Tanzania\'s most renowned wildlife destinations and a major stage for the annual Great Migration.Enjoy a picnic lunch during the journey, followed by further game viewing as you travel deeper into the park. Later, continue to you\'re accommodation in the Serengeti, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight.

Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. Optional Activity: Serengeti Hot Air Balloon Safari – USD 550 per person, not included in the package price.After breakfast, head into the Serengeti for an extensive wildlife experience. The park supports a remarkable variety of animals and birds, creating opportunities for memorable sightings throughout the day. Look for lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs and buffaloes, together with giraffes, zebras, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, crocodiles, monkeys, baboons and potentially rhinos.The Serengeti is also famous for the Great Migration, when enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing and water.Birdwatchers can enjoy the park\'s extensive birdlife, including resident and migratory species.Return to you\'re accommodation after the day\'s game viewing for dinner and overnight.

Serengeti National Park to Karatu

Begin the morning with an early game drive in Central Serengeti. As the morning light spreads across the savannah, you\'re guide will search for fresh animal tracks and signs that can help locate predators and other wildlife. After the morning game viewing, begin the journey toward Karatu, travelling through the Ngorongoro area. Upon arrival in Karatu, check in at you\'re accommodation and enjoy dinner before overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Start the day early and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch.

The crater\'s enclosed ecosystem supports a remarkable concentration of wildlife, providing opportunities to see several of Africa\'s most famous animals in one area. Look for the Big Five – buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion and leopard – together with zebras, hippos, wildebeest and hyenas.

The crater also supports diverse birdlife, including geese, storks and vultures, while flamingos may be seen around the soda lake.

You\'re experienced safari guide will use knowledge of the area and wildlife tracking skills to help maximize you\'re game-viewing opportunities.

After the crater experience, ascend and continue to Arusha, where you will spend the night.

After breakfast, check out from you\'re hotel and prepare for you\'re transfer from Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
