Buffalo Camp to Third Cave Camp

After breakfast, continue from Buffalo Camp to Third Cave Camp along the northern circuit. The trail traverses the high slopes of Kilimanjaro, offering impressive views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Enjoy a gradual trekking day that provides additional time for acclimatization while experiencing the remote northern side of the mountain. Arrive at Third Cave Camp, settle in, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

Third Cave Camp to School Hut

After breakfast, continue your ascent from Third Cave Camp to School Hut, your final camp before the summit phase.

The trail gradually climbs across the high-altitude alpine desert as you approach the upper slopes of Kibo. Walk slowly and steadily while allowing your body to adjust to the increasing elevation. Arrive at School Hut, where you will prepare your clothing and equipment for the summit. Enjoy dinner and rest early before the next day's crater ascent.

School Hut Camp to Crater Camp

After breakfast, leave School Hut Camp and continue toward the upper slopes of Kibo.

The route climbs steadily through high-altitude terrain toward the crater area. As you approach the summit zone, the landscape becomes increasingly stark and rugged, with spectacular views across the mountain. Continue to Crater Camp, located within the Kilimanjaro crater area. Upon arrival, settle in and enjoy the extraordinary high-altitude environment. Rest and prepare for the summit attempt the following day.

Crater Camp to Uhuru Peak – Millennium Camp

Begin your summit attempt from the crater area, with the exact departure time determined by mountain conditions and the final climbing schedule. Continue toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the roof of Africa. Celebrate your summit achievement and, when weather conditions are clear, enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the top.

After the summit, begin your descent toward Millennium Camp. The descent becomes more gradual as you lose altitude and move toward the upper forest zone. Arrive at Millennium Camp, where you will enjoy dinner and rest after the summit day.

Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate – Moshi

After breakfast, begin your final descent from Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate through the beautiful mountain forest.

Enjoy the changing vegetation as you move to lower elevations. Upon reaching Mweka Gate, complete the required exit procedures and receive your summit certificate where applicable.
