Kampala to Nyabitaba Hut
After your trekking preparations and group briefing at Nyakabitaba huts begin the Rwenzori trek from approximately 1,646 metres. The route initially passes through cultivated areas before entering the lush montane forest. Follow the trail along the Mubuku River and gradually gain elevation. Trek at a comfortable group pace while taking regular breaks for hydration, photography and rest. Enjoy the changing forest vegetation and surrounding mountain scenery. Continue toward Nyabitaba Hut at approximately 2,652 metres. Upon arrival, settle into the mountain hut, enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut
After breakfast, leave Nyabitaba Hut and continue toward John Matte Hut. The trail passes through forest and bamboo vegetation before entering higher mountain environments. Continue through sections of rocky and sometimes slippery terrain while following your mountain guide. As you gain elevation, the vegetation changes to giant heather and other high-altitude plant species. Depending on weather conditions, you may enjoy views toward Mount Stanley, Mount Speke and other surrounding peaks. Continue through the mountain landscape before reaching John Matte Hut at approximately 3,414 metres. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hut.

John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut
After breakfast, continue your trek from John Matte Hut toward Bujuku Hut. The route crosses the Bujuku River before entering the Bigo Bog, where careful footing and guidance are important. Continue through the boggy high-altitude landscape toward Bujuku Lake. The surrounding terrain becomes increasingly dramatic as you approach the higher mountain valleys. Depending on weather and visibility, enjoy possible views toward Mount Baker and Mount Stanley. Continue to Bujuku Hut at approximately 3,962 metres, settle in and enjoy dinner before spending the night.

Bujuku Hut to Kitandara Hut
After breakfast, leave Bujuku Hut and continue toward the high-altitude sections of the Central Circuit. The trail passes through rugged alpine terrain as you climb toward Scott-Elliot Pass. The higher sections offer dramatic mountain scenery and changing alpine vegetation. Take regular breaks while maintaining a controlled group pace with your guide and support crew. After crossing the high section of the route, descend toward the Kitandara Valley and continue to Kitandara Hut at approximately 4,023 metres. Enjoy dinner and spend the night. Note: Approximately 4,430 metres refers to Elena Hut rather than Kitandara Hut.

Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut
After breakfast, begin the descent from Kitandara Hut toward Guy Yeoman Hut. Continue through rugged mountain terrain with changing vegetation and expansive views across the Rwenzori landscape. The trail passes through the Freshfield Pass area before gradually descending toward lower elevations. Some sections can be wet, muddy or slippery, particularly during unfavorable weather conditions, so follow your guide's instructions carefully. Reach Guy Yeoman Hut at approximately 3,261 metres, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

After breakfast, begin your final descent from Guy Yeoman Hut. Follow the trail down through the changing mountain vegetation and continue through challenging sections around Kichuchu before crossing the Mubuku River. Continue toward Nyabitaba and complete the final section of the Central Circuit. Descend toward Nyakalengija, meet your private transfer vehicle and begin the journey back to Kampala.
