After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety procedures. The trek can be physically demanding, so hiring a porter is recommended. Once you locate your assigned gorilla family, spend approximately one hour observing and photographing them. You may also encounter other primates and bird species within the ancient forest. Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon village walk. Visit a local women's craft center and learn about traditional community life and crafts.
