Shira 2 Camp to Moir Hut Camp

After breakfast, you leave Shira 2 and continue toward Moir Hut Camp. The landscape becomes increasingly rugged as you move deeper into the high-altitude environment around Kibo. The trail passes through sparse alpine vegetation and volcanic terrain. Your mountain guide maintains a controlled pace and provides regular breaks as the altitude increases.

Moir Hut Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

After breakfast, you continue toward the Lava Tower area, gaining significant elevation before descending toward Barranco Camp. This section gives you an opportunity to experience a higher altitude during the day before sleeping at a lower elevation.The landscape becomes more dramatic as you approach the upper slopes of Kibo. After reaching the Lava Tower area, you begin the descent toward Barranco Camp.Upon arrival at Barranco Camp, you enjoy dinner and rest overnight while preparing for the next stages toward the summit.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

After breakfast, you leave Barranco Camp and begin the climb toward Karanga Camp. The day starts with the famous Barranco Wall, where the trail becomes steeper and requires careful movement across rocky sections. With guidance from your mountain crew, you continue at a steady group pace. After completing the Barranco Wall, the trail passes through alpine desert landscapes with several ascents and descents across the mountain ridges and valleys.You eventually reach Karanga Camp, where you settle into camp, enjoy your evening meal and rest before the next day's climb toward Barafu Camp.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, you leave Karanga Camp and continue toward Barafu Camp. The trail climbs steadily through the alpine desert as the vegetation becomes increasingly sparse and the summit zone comes closer. After arriving at Barafu Camp, your guide provides a summit briefing and explains the schedule for the following day's summit attempt. You prepare your warm clothing, headlamp, water and other essential equipment before having an early dinner. You then rest as much as possible in preparation for the early-morning summit climb.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp

The summit attempt begins during the early hours of the morning. You leave Barafu Camp with your mountain guide and begin the slow ascent toward the crater rim.The climb is demanding due to the altitude, cold temperatures and steep terrain. The group proceeds slowly with regular breaks while the guide monitors the condition of each climber. After reaching the crater rim, you continue toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro and Africa.After reaching the summit, you have time for photographs and to appreciate the achievement, subject to weather and safety conditions. You then begin the descent toward Millennium Camp.

Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

After breakfast, you begin your final descent through the mountain forest toward Mweka Gate. As you lose altitude, the environment becomes greener and warmer.Upon reaching Mweka Gate, you complete the required park exit procedures before meeting your group transfer vehicle.
