Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

After breakfast, you continue from Mti Mkubwa Camp toward Shira 1 Camp. The trail gradually leaves the forest and enters the moorland zone, where the landscape becomes more open and the vegetation changes significantly. As you gain elevation, you begin to experience wider views of the mountain environment. Your private guide maintains a controlled pace to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. After reaching Shira 1 Camp, you have time to rest and enjoy the surrounding scenery before dinner and an overnight stay.

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

After breakfast, you continue across the Shira Plateau toward Shira 2 Camp. Today's relatively moderate stage allows you to explore the high-altitude landscape while continuing your acclimatization. The open terrain provides impressive views toward Kibo and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Your guide monitors your progress and adjusts the pace according to your condition.

Shira 2 Camp to Moir Hut Camp

After breakfast, you leave Shira 2 and continue toward Moir Hut Camp. The route gradually enters a more rugged high-altitude environment as you approach the northern side of Kibo. This stage provides valuable acclimatization as you continue gaining elevation. The landscape becomes increasingly sparse, with volcanic rock and alpine vegetation replacing the lower mountain vegetation.

After reaching Moir Hut Camp, you settle in, enjoy dinner and rest for the night.

Moir Hut Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

After breakfast, you continue toward the Lava Tower area, reaching higher altitude before descending toward Barranco Camp. This stage is particularly useful for acclimatization because it follows the principle of climbing high and sleeping lower. The landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as you approach the upper slopes of Kibo. After spending time around the Lava Tower area, you descend toward Barranco Camp.The descent helps your body adjust before the upcoming summit stages. After arriving at Barranco Camp, you enjoy dinner and rest overnight beneath the mountain's impressive western slopes.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

After breakfast, you leave Barranco Camp and begin the climb toward Karanga Camp. The day starts with the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but manageable section where you use a combination of walking and careful scrambling under the guidance of your mountain guide. As you climb higher, you are rewarded with impressive views of the surrounding valleys, glaciers and the upper slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After completing the Barranco Wall, the trail continues across the alpine desert through a series of valleys and ridges. The route involves several short ascents and descents before reaching Karanga Camp. Your private guide maintains a comfortable pace and allows regular breaks to support acclimatization. Upon arrival at Karanga Camp, you settle into your camp, enjoy a freshly prepared meal and have time to rest while taking in views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Your guide will also brief you about the following day's trek to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit attempt.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, you leave Karanga Camp and continue toward Barafu Camp. The trail climbs steadily through the alpine desert toward the southern slopes of Kibo. As you approach Barafu Camp, the vegetation becomes extremely sparse and the summit environment becomes more apparent. Your guide provides a detailed summit briefing and helps you prepare your equipment for the following day's summit attempt.

You have an early dinner and rest as much as possible before the night-time summit climb.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp

The summit attempt begins during the early hours of the morning. You leave Barafu Camp with your private guide and begin the slow ascent toward Stella Point and the crater rim. The climb is demanding because of the steep terrain, cold temperatures and extreme altitude. Your guide maintains a slow pace with appropriate breaks while monitoring your condition. After reaching the crater rim, you continue toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro and Africa.After reaching the summit, you have time for photographs and to appreciate the achievement, subject to weather and safety conditions. You then begin the descent toward Millennium Camp. After reaching Millennium Camp, you enjoy a well-earned meal and rest overnight.

Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

After breakfast, you begin your final descent through the mountain forest toward Mweka Gate. The trail becomes greener as you lose altitude and return to the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro.
