Today’s trek takes you across the alpine desert toward Kibo Hut. The trail passes through the Saddle, a broad area between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, with striking high-altitude scenery and limited vegetation. Continue steadily toward Kibo Hut, where you will have an early dinner and rest. Prepare your clothing and equipment for the challenging summit attempt that begins during the night.

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Wake around midnight and begin the summit climb under the early morning sky. Trek slowly toward Gilman’s Point, taking regular breaks to manage the altitude and conserve energy.
