After breakfast, you will continue your trek from Mandara Hut toward Horombo Hut. After approximately 5–7 hours of hiking, you will reach Horombo Hut, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Today, you will trek from Horombo Hut toward Kibo Hut, crossing the scenic Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. The vegetation becomes increasingly sparse as you enter the alpine desert zone. The hike takes approximately 5–7 hours. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, you will have dinner and rest early in preparation for the summit attempt.

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
The summit day begins around midnight. You will start the challenging ascent toward Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the highest point in Africa. The climb takes several hours and includes steep sections toward Gilman’s Point and the summit. After reaching Uhuru Peak and taking time to enjoy the views, you will descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight accommodation.
